This guide answers common questions about using “Working JAPAN” and finding jobs.

1. About Signing Up (Registration / Account)

• Who can sign up?
  
  • If you want a “Specific Skills Visa,” you must pass two tests:
    
    1. The Specific Skills Test (for 14 job types).
    2. Japanese Language Proficiency Test N4.
  • If you don’t pass both, we cannot help you find a job with this visa. Please pass the tests first, then sign up.
• Why sign up?
  
  • It saves time! Your name and address will be filled in automatically when you apply.
  • If a job you applied for says no, we will email you about other similar jobs you might like.
• How to sign up?
  
  • You can sign up here (link provided in original site). It makes applying easier.
• Can’t sign in?
  
  • Did you get an email saying you finished signing up? If not, your registration might not be complete. Try signing up again.
• Forgot password?
  
  • You can reset your password here (link provided in original site).
• Change my info?
  
  • Log in to “My Page,” then click “Edit profile.”
• Delete my account?
  
  • Log in to “My Page,” then click “Withdrawal procedure.”

2. About Jobs and Applying

• How to read job ads and apply?

• How to apply for a job?
  
  • Click “Apply” on the job page. If you are signed up, it will be faster.
• How to save jobs I like?
  
  • Use the “Keep” button on the job page. You can then see your saved jobs anytime from the “Keep” button at the top right of the website.
• Can I ask about jobs?
  
  • Yes! Our foreign staff can answer your questions by email. (It might take some time.)
• How to get the newest jobs quickly?
  
  • Follow “Working Japan (GBN)” on Facebook. We post new jobs there often.

3. About Interviews

• How to set up an interview?
  
  • First, apply for a job. Only if your application (documents) is approved, you will get an interview schedule.
• Change interview time?
  
  • If you really need to change, please contact “Working JAPAN” at least one day before your interview.
• Running late for interview?
  
  • If you are late (e.g., train delay), call “Working JAPAN” right away. Do not email. A Japanese person will answer. In Japan, being on time is very important. Try to arrive 10 minutes early.
• Cancel interview?
  
  • If you cannot go to the interview, contact “Working JAPAN” as soon as possible.

4. Other Questions

• Residence Card help?
  
  • We do not currently help with renewing or getting your Residence Card.
• Why do I need to show my Residence Card?
  
  • We need to check if your visa allows you to work. You will show it at the company interview. Your card image will not be shown to companies before that. (You don’t need to show it when you sign up or apply.)
• Job types in Japan?

• Can I use an English resume?
  
  • Please submit your resume in Japanese, as Japanese companies will read it. Even if you upload an English one when signing up, you will need to make a Japanese resume later.
